Post Primary Admissions – September 2018
The post primary admissions process concluded on 18 May 2018 with a total of 22,371 (98.62%) children placed in a school. 86.35% of children have been offered a place at their first preference school, while 1.38% are as yet unplaced.
Notification of placement – Post Primary
Parents of children who are in Primary 7 and who will be transferring to post primary school in September 2018 should receive written notification of the outcome of their application on Saturday 19 May 2018. Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs have a separate transfer process, and queries on their post primary placement should be addressed to the Special Education Department of the Education Authority.
Letters were issued by post primary schools to the parents of those children they are admitting. The Education Authority has written to the parents of children who have not yet secured a place for September 2018 advising them of the action they should take now.
