Moving forward, EA plan to actively engage with suppliers both formally and informally with a view to achieving greater value for money and exploring innovative solutions.
EA Procurement will proactively seek to engage at the earliest possible stage in the procurement process, in order to:
- Research and assess what the market has to offer;
- Engage in open communication to define the upcoming requirements;
- Define the optimum duration of contracts;
- Encourage innovative solutions;
- Openly and transparently explore possible solutions in partnership with the supply base.
EA Procurement have developed a strong partnership with InterTrade Ireland. This link will assist EA to enhance our presence within the supply base and joint engagement events are currently in the planning stages.

Pre-Market Engagement Events
Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
It is the intention of The Education Authority to host pre-market engagement meetings on 22/23 September via MS Teams or Zoom for the Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables. Should you wish to participate you must e-mail catering.procure@eani.org.uk with the subject CAT-21-002 Supplier Event no later than 12:00 on 9 September 2021. Your email should include the names of the representatives wishing to attend, the name of your organisation and a brief summary of the products your organisation is interested in supplying. Appointments will be allocated according to availability after the cut-off date. Please note that spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Suppliers will be informed of the final arrangements prior to any pre-market engagement meeting. Please note the date is subject to change and we reserve the right to arrange alternative engagement meetings with suppliers if required.
