EA Launch ‘Cycle2Work’ Scheme

The Education Authority (EA) has today launched a new ‘Cycle2Work’ Scheme for EA staff.

As part of EA’s Health & Wellbeing Strategy, EA is committed to promoting a healthy workplace and supporting colleagues in finding ways in which they can take better care of their health both inside and outside of work by providing initiatives aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles.

The ‘Cycle2Work’ Scheme is an initiative that offers colleagues who want to cycle to work the opportunity to get a new bike, tax-free. The scheme is designed to encourage people to get active, try alternative travel and reduce pollution.

EA Director of Human Resources, Clare Duffield commented on the launch of the ‘Cycle2Work’ staff initiative;

“I am delighted to announce that EA has today launched the ‘Cycle2Work’ Scheme which is open to all eligible EA employees. We have listened to our staff and their enthusiasm for the scheme has inspired us to add this to the workplace benefits we already offer.

Cycling offers an enormous range of benefits and by introducing the ‘Cycle2Work’ Scheme EA hopes to encourage employees to adopt a healthier lifestyle and improve their overall physical and mental health and try alternative travel in their daily commute to and from the place of work.

I would encourage all staff to visit the website to learn more about the benefits of the scheme.”
