Annual Area Profiles for Primary and Post-Primary schools published

The Education Authority (EA) has published the annual area profiles for primary and post-primary schools across Northern Ireland.

The school profiles are published annually by EA and contain information such as school enrollment and admission numbers, financial profiles, achievements at GCSE and A level and other information such as Free School Meals Entitlement and compliance with the Entitlement Framework.

“The information is useful to schools, parents and the wider education community in monitoring any changes to a school’s financial position, enrolment numbers or overall educational experience,” said EA Director of Education John Collings.

“It is also a vital tool in signposting schools, EA, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS) and the other managing authorities to areas that may need attention or support. If any school has a concern about any of the information provided in the annual area profiles, they should contact the relevant EA team.”

The area profiles provide important information in relation to the Strategic Area Plan Providing Pathways - Strategic Area Plan for Schools 2017-2020, which was published in April 2017 and the Area Plan Annual Action Plans for 2017-18 and 2018-19.

“The Area Planning process is about ensuring that all children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum in good, sustainable schools that can effectively meet their educational needs,” said Mr Collings.

“Our goal is to enhance the quality of education provision and to raise standards for all children and young people in Northern Ireland. It aims to ensure that we have a network of sustainable schools for Northern Ireland that are of the right type, of the right size, and in the right place.”
